Poetry and Wit

I’m sorry for anything and everything I’ve done,
I’m sorry that it has been far far too long.
I’m sorry for whatever wrong I’ve inflicted,
or any interest I’ve conflicted.
I really just wish you could find the time to call me back,
and tell me what character I lack,
what precious hopes I’ve soiled black.
And how with lack of thought I’ve caused strife and distraught,
and torn bonds that were so carefully wrought.
I’m sorry in the plainest words
for whatever pain I’ve caused with the sharpest of swords.
But please call me back, so that I might learn what I lack,
and eventually win at least some of your affection back.
